Ingredients

  • Jowar (white millet)180 g · 1 cup
  • Red gram dal180 g · 1 cup
  • Bengal gram whole180 g · 1 cup
  • Black gram dal5 g · 1 tsp
  • Onion big200 g · 2
  • Chillies red3 g · 6
  • Coriander leaves10 g · Small bunch
  • Curry leaves2 g · 7-8
  • Rice bran oil20 g · 4 tsp

Method

  1. 1Soak white millet in water for 7 hours and grind.
  2. 2Soak red gram, bengal gram, skinned whole black gram and green gram for 2 hours and grind.
  3. 3Mix both the batters together and add salt as allowed.
  4. 4Add finely chopped onion to the batter, along with asafoetida, chopped coriander, and curry leaves Mix well.
  5. 5Heat a flat pan (dosa tawa).
  6. 6When hot, pour a ladle of batter on the pan and spread it like a thick pancake (adai).
  7. 7Sprinkle oil, cook the pancake (adai) on both sides till golden brown and remove.
