Ingredients
- Rice basmati180 g · 180 g
- Groundnut15 g · 15 g
- Black gram dal5 g · 5 g
- Bengal gram dal5 g · 5 g
- Sesame seed oil15 g · 15 g
- Lemon juice5 g · 5 g
- Mustard seeds (seasoning)1 g · 1/2 tsp
- Urad dal (seasoning)2 g · 1 tsp
- Chana dal (seasoning)2 g · 1 tsp
- Red chilli (seasoning)1 g · 1
- Asafoetida (seasoning)0.5 g · a pinch
- Green chillies (seasoning)5 g · 2
- Turmeric powder (seasoning)1 g · 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves (seasoning)2 g · few
Method
- 1Cook rice with less water so the grains are separate. Spread on a plate and add 1 tsp of sesame seed oil so the grains don't stick. Mix well and set aside.
- 2Saute peanuts in 1/2 tsp oil until golden brown and keep aside.
- 3Heat oil, add mustard seeds; when they splutter, add urad dal, chana dal, red chillies and asafoetida. When dal becomes aromatic and turns golden brown, add green chillies, turmeric powder, curry leaves.
- 4Squeeze lemon juice in a cup and add to the rice.
- 5Add the rice to the seasoning and mix well.
- 6Serve hot if less salt is added.
