Ingredients

  • Lentil dal (Masoor)30 g · 2 tbsp
  • Onion big50 g · 1/4 big onion
  • Tomato ripe hybrid50 g · 1/2 big
  • Cumin seeds2 g · 1/4 tsp
  • Chillies green5 g · 1 chilli
  • Turmeric powder1 g · 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves5 g · 2 tsp finely chopped
  • Groundnut oil5 g · 1 tsp

Method

  1. 1Rinse the dal well and pressure cook the dal with 1 cup of water, onion and tomatoes.
  2. 2Cook till dal becomes soft.
  3. 3In another pan, heat 1tsp oil. Fry cumin, add chopped chilly, and turmeric powder. Add this to cooked dal.
  4. 4Let it simmer to your liked consistency.
  5. 5Garnish with coriander leaves.

Notes from the contributor

  • Can exclude tomatoes and add a few drops of lime for a change in flavor. but not much change in potassium levels.
