Ingredients
- Rice basmati90 g · 90 g
- Green gram dal10 g · 10 g
- Rice bran oil10 g · 10 g
- Tomato ripe local50 g · 50 g
- Onion small50 g · 50 g
- Carrot red25 g · 25 g
- Capsicum green25 g · 25 g
- Maharashtrian goda masala (optional)2 g · 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder1 g · 1/4 tsp
- Cumin powder1 g · 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder1 g · 1/4 tsp
Method
- 1Wash the rice and dal, soak for 30 minutes. Drain. Wash and chop all vegetables in desired sizes.
- 2Heat oil in pressure cooker, add onion and saute. Add tomato and spices and saute.
- 3Mix in the rice and dal, mixing everything properly. Add required amount of water. Turn off the stove after 3-4 whistles.
- 4Serve Khichdi hot with raita or curd.

- • The Maharashtrian goda masala has ingredients high in potassium. If potassium levels are not managed well, safely avoid it.
