Ingredients
- Chicken200 g · 8 small pieces
- Onion50 g · 2 medium (1 sliced and 1 grated)
- Mustard Oil30 g · 2 tbsp (1 tbsp for marination and 1 tbsp for cooking)
- Garlic and Ginger paste15 g · 1 tbsp
- Garam masala2.5 g · 1/2 tsp
- Green chilli · 1-2 nos
- Turmeric2.5 g · 1/2 tsp
- Bay leaf · 2
Method
- 1Marinate the chicken for 1-2 hrs with garlic-ginger paste, garam masala and green chillies and salt as needed. All the ingredients except onion slices, bay leaf and oil for cooking.
- 2Heat the oil in a pan, add bay leafand onion slices. Fry till onion turns dark brown.
- 3Add the marinated chicken and mix well.
- 4Cover and cook on a low flame till the water evaporates, and the chicken is tender. Add hot water if required for light gravy. Let it boil for a few minutes.
- 5Serve with rice or chapati
