Ingredients
- Paneer100 g · Size of 1/2 A deck of cards
- Red Chillies10 g · 2 tsp
- Garlic paste5 g · 1 tsp
- Lemon juice10 g · 2 tsp
- Rice flour50 g · 1/4 cup
- Oil100 g · 1/2 cup (for deep frying)
Method
- 1Cut the paneer block into 10 sticks.
- 2Make a mixture of chilli paste, garlic paste and lime juice in a bowl.
- 3Add paneer sticks to the above mixture gently, making sure the paneer sticks are coated well. Set aside for 15 minutes.
- 4Spread rice flour on a plate.
- 5Take each paneer stick and roll over the rice flour, making sure to coat the paneer stick completely.
- 6Deep fry in hot oil on a medium flame.
- 7You can also bake them in a preheated oven at 220°c for 10 minutes. Turn them over in between at the end of 5 minutes.
- 8Serve hot.
Notes from the contributor
- • A high protein snack, so CKD may consume in limitted potion (half or less)
- • You can increase the quantity, prepare the marinated sticks and freeze in airtight containers for later use. Patients with elevated phosphorous levels need to take their binder along with this snack.
