Phodnicha Bhat (Rice with Tempering)

Ingredients
- Cooked rice60 g · 1/2 cup
- Onion (chopped)50 g · 1/2 onion
- Red chilli powder (or 1 chopped green chilli)1 g · 1/2 tsp
- Mustard and cumin seeds1 g · 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida0.5 g · a pinch
- Turmeric0.5 g · a pinch
- Oil10 g · 2 tsp
Method
- 1Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow to splutter.
- 2Add asafoetida, turmeric and onions. When onions are translucent, add rice and remaining spices.
- 3Cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
- 4Serve hot with a cucumber or onion raita.
