Pineapple Sheera

Good for dialysis and CKD persons. If the sugar can be replaced with a artificial sweetener then good for Diabetic patients also.

Ingredients

  • Pineapple120 g · 3/4 cup
  • Wheat semolina100 g · 1 cup
  • Rice bran oil30 g · 2 tb spoon
  • Ghee10 g · 2 tsp
  • Milk whole Cow30 g · 2 tab spoon
  • Refined sugar (sucrose) granulated75 g · 5 tb spoon
  • Cardamom powder2 g · 1/2 tsp

Method

  1. 1Soak kesar in milk and keep it aside. Puree 1 cup pineapple chunks. Mix puree and sugar well in a pan and cook for 4-5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  2. 2Keep it aside. Itanother pan, heat oil and ghee. To it, add Rawa and fry continuously till it turns golden brown. Boil 3-4 cups of water while Rawa is frying.
  3. 3While Rawa is turning golden brown, add Elaichi powder, kesar milk and pineapple chunks and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  4. 4Keep few chunks of pineapple aside for garnishing. Add boiled water to the golden brown Rawa and keep stirring till Rawa cooks and moisture evaporates.
  5. 5Add sugar to the cooked Rawa. Stir till sugar melts completely.
  6. 6Now add cooked pineapple puree to the above cooked Rawa and cook for 3-4 minutes till moisture evaporates. Turn off the heat and cover the pan with a lid for few minutes. Garnish with fresh pineapple chunks while serving.
