Ingredients
- Rice flour158 g · 1 cup
- Water100 g · 1/2 cup
- Oil15 g · 1 tbsp
Method
- 1On a medium gas flame boil water in a big vessel. Add one tablespoon of oil.
- 2Once water starts bubbling and boiling, reduce heat to low. Add flour and mix with a spoon — it will appear like crumbs.
- 3Switch off the gas. Cover the vessel with a lid for 5 minutes. Now add salt and start kneading the mixture with your hands. Knead for 15 minutes until dough is smooth. If slightly firm add a little water.
- 4Shape into 2-inch round balls or oval shape. Dust flour on the balls. Roll into oval or round shape.
- 5Place a frying pan on the stove on medium mode. Fry the bhakris from both sides on low flame for a minute each.
- 6Place the bhakris on low flame and roast on both sides with hand or tongs.
- 7Serve rice bhakri hot with curry or vegetables.
