Suji Barfi

Ingredients

  • Suji100 g
  • Sugar (powdered)60 g · 4 tbsp
  • Ghee · 1 tsp (5 ml)
  • Cinnamon Powder2.5 g · 1/2 tsp

Method

  1. 1On a medium flame roast the suji in a deep pan till it gets a fragrance and becomes slightly brown, stirring all the while.
  2. 2Reduce flame and add the powdered sugar, ghee and cinnamon powder. Mix well.
  3. 3In a pan put water and bring it to boil. Add about 1 medium cup of moderately hot water and cook to a thick consistency taking care that there are no lumps.
  4. 4Spread it evenly on a tray to about 1 cm thickness and let it cool.
  5. 5Cut into diamond shape.
  6. 6Serve as a snack, in portion suggested
