Ingredients
- Rice basmati180 g · 180 g
- Sesame oil15 g · 15 g
- Black gram dal30 g · 30 g
- Sesame seeds45 g · 45 g
- Groundnut5 g · 5 g
- Mustard seeds2.5 g · 2.5 g
- Bay leaf1 g · 1
- Jeera1 g · 1/2 tsp
- Cloves1 g · 2
- Cinnamon1 g · 1 small piece
- Garam masala (optional)1 g · 1/4 tsp
- Curd (raitha)200 g · 1 cup
- Cucumber chopped (raitha)50 g · 1/2
- Onion chopped (raitha)50 g · 1/2
Method
- 1Wash and soak basmati rice for 1/2 hour.
- 2In a pan heat half the quantity of oil, add bay leaf, jeera and dry seasonings.
- 3Add rice and cook till less water so it has separate grains.
- 4In a pan add oil and fry chopped onions, carrot, and khol-khol. Add mint leaves and salt.
- 5Add cooked basmati rice and mix well.
- 6Serve hot with Raitha.
