Okra with Homemade Sauce
A simple okra dish with an easy homemade mouth-watering sauce.

Ingredients
- Okra, cut into 1.5'' · 25 medium (300g)
- Garlic, minced · 1 tbsp
- Oyster sauce · 1/2 tbsp
- Sesame oil · 1/2 tbsp
- Vegetable oil · 1/2 tbsp
- Corn starch · 1/4 tbsp
- Low sodium chicken broth cube · 1/4 cube
Method
- 1Broth: Dissolve chicken broth cube with 1/2 cup of hot water in a bowl and set aside.
- 2Seasoning: Mix oyster sauce, corn starch and sesame oil, in a bowl and set aside.
- 3Boil the okra for 3 minutes, or until the okra softens, and lay the cooked okra on a serving plate.
- 4Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat and stir-fry the garlic. Remove from the pan and pat dry using paper towels.
- 5Boil half of the broth in the same saucepan. Stir in the remaining broth and seasoning mixture until the sauce thickens.
- 6Pour the sauce over the okra and top with the toasted garlic.

- • Be careful not to overcook the okra, or they will become really soft and slimy.
